First Look by Opergeist First Look by Opergeist
An attempt at an illustration of Erik's fifth birthday as written by Susan Kay. The scene was always so wrenching to me that it sort of begged to be drawn.

I am not at all satisfied with the glass, nor the color, and the hand looks far to grown up to be a child's (naturally, because I gad to use my own). The blood was not originally intended to be as dominant as it is...apparently I got in a dark mood and got a little gore-happy. Eh...what do you think?

Hnngh. I took one look at this and I was like "Whoa.." cause at first I thought that was a grown Erik possibly grieving over the loss of Christine. He had probably had a mirror put up in the Louis-Philippe which he had been standing in at the time. So yeah, pain and angst ensues, ghostly voices from the past ring in his ears, the reflection of his younger self's face etched in horror. Good job! I always found your style on drawing hands fascinating. :)

Awww. Yeah, that's the saddest bit of the entire book, as far as I'm concerned, or near there. Beautiful. And nawww, gore-happy is good. It portrays the emotion really well.

This is cool I really can't stand a lot of the book. I mean the book is like my fav book of all time. But it just hurts me so much how he is treated. And the sad part it has probly happen in one way or another.
