Mask 2 in the cycle.

These pieces were designed and worn for my Senior Seminar performance. The theme for the class was the personal Manifesto in art. As such, we were able to not only write our manifestoes, stating how we feel that our art fits in (or doesn\'t fit in) to the greater realm of art, but to exhibit this in a short performance.

My manifesto deals with \"perfection\", and \"truth\". As a designer, I feel that in order to be perfect, one must first be true. Truth in itself is NOT aesthetic perfection. Therefore, the perfect, that is to say, the true is inherently flawed. We must recognize and revel in our individualism. It makes us truer to ourselves.

This mask represents rage, and the emergence of truth. My design was heavilly influenced by a conglomeration of asiatic theatre forms.

The story of the piece is of sacrificing the flesh of a nature-made body in favor of the true one under the overlying theme of ftm transexuality.
